After watching Hughes act like such a Melvin towards GSP on TUF I just want to watch GSP pound the crap out of Hughes. If GSP can keep most of the fight standing, I think he has a good shot at winning. I think GSP has a great ground game, but I think Hughes has the edge on the ground.

GSP will destroy Hughes. He wants it badly.

What, what, what? I missed that part of the show... well, I only watch the fights. What did Matt did?

Anyways, I want GSP to win. Both fighters are not the same they were when they first met. This will be an interesting fight.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

It's kinda a stretch calling anything that somebody at Hughs' skill level does lucky don't you think? That's be like saying Chuck Liddel got that lucky knockout.

El Macho, GSP didn't want to train around Hughes to give any secrets and then Hughes acted like a dick about it at dinner that night. Din Thomas told GSP to beat his ass.

I think GSP has the skills to beat Hughes on the feet and on the ground if he is in the dominant position. Hughes might be the better wrestler, but he couldn't take down Penn as easily as GSP did.

I think GSP will take this. Hughes is an incredible fighter, but he hasn't really gotten that much better since their last fight. GSP, on the other hand, has grown a lot and is good from every position. Hughes only option is going to be to take GSP down and pound out the victory, and that won't be easy. Any other scenario I have GSP winning.

BTW Hughes arm bar was not lucky. GSP made a bad mistake on the ground by leaving his arm like that. Hughes move was a textbook response to that situation. GSP screwed up and Hughes was good enough to make him pay for it.
I pointed at him [the panhandler], bringing my rear hand up in a subtle approximation of the double Wu Sau guard that is the default hand position in Wing Chun Kung Fu.

    "Step away," I hissed.

GSP is quite a bit better than he was at that time, imo. If Hughes survives to the end of the fight he might pull out a decision but other than that I see the belt going over to GSP.

I am among those that think GSP is overrated. I think whether or not GSP "dominated" the first fight until Hughes armbarred him is debatable -- it really depends on who you were rooting for IMHO.

Has GSP really gotten that much better? Or does everyone just want to see Hughes lose?

I am by no means a Hughes fan but I think he'll win. Hughes can 'andle GSP's riddum. And will likely ride out a 5 round lay'n'pray victory by unanimous decision after attempting to humilate that Quebecois fighter with another armbar.

If it goes to decision it will probably be Hughes. If not, I really think GSP has improved that much. I think he had a good shot of beating Hughes the first time, and he's improved more than Matt has.
