Thread: Kyokushin with head attacks?

My KK dojo allowed head shots.
Tournaments are a diffent story. Oyama (as Asia once wrote) wanted to be ok with JKA and had to avoid "bloodbaths," to make tournies ok in Japan. Asia and Ronin, if you care to search, have written about this more than once."Preparing mentally, the most important thing is, if you aren't doing it for the love of it, then don't do it." - Benny Urquidez

I'm just curious about their training methods, I do muay thai at the moment, which I quite enjoy. I don't think anyone has mentioned the group yet, if I remember correctly, it might have began with a Y, and the headgear they wore seemed to look very simliar to kendo's headgear but without the metal bars!

"I believe World Oyama allows backfists to the side of the head bare knuckle."
Theres an interesting story about Shigeru Oyama who founded Oyama USA that would break all of his blackbelts chest bone once they succesfully tested to blackbelt. That Shigeru Oyama is a crazy man seriously.
