    The term you want it "shitty training". Proper lifting form will increase your flexability.

    Exactly. Another reason grapplers like low rep / high weight is that it tend to increase strength without necessarily building a lot of "show" muscle.

    Going up a weight class to get a little bit stronger is not worth it IMO. Low reps will get you stronger, and will also leave more time and energy for cardio / anaerobic work (sprints, rolling, etc).

    The whole muscle slows a fighter down thing is from an era when it was also ok to chain smoke in the boxing gym and a jug of cow's blood was a bodybuilding supplement.

    Thanks for the advice. So would most of you say that I should toss my 10-rep scheme and just try for 4-6 reps at very high weight and leave it at that? Is this a good idea without a spotter?

    EDIT:
    P.S: How much stretching to I need to keep my arms flexible? I train primarily upper body, am I at risk of losing some speed if I don't do some arm stretched while doing a low rep program?
