Join Dog Brother or a similiar school that does full contact sparring with weapons and don't waste $ on videos.

I looked around for good pics, but couldn't find any that copy and paste-able, nor any direct links.
    Its simple though.

You just grab the back of you own head right behind your ear, squish your arm tight to the side of your head. It cuts down the attackers strike angles.

I've seen in a few movies ("Mr. and Mrs. Smith" where they are fightig in the house and she blasts him with some plates), and there is an example somewhere on that shivworks site.

If I do find anything, I'll post it for ya.

I'm pretty sure those are the destructions. It looks just like covering the high line for the most part but you guid the fist int the elbow. Much easier than it's sound, pretty damn useless if they're wearing gloves, pretty damn dirty if they're not wearing gloves. It's a versus empty hand technique

hmm that's very similar to a empty hand elbow strike position in pekiti tirsia. Hurts like hell on the receiver when it connects, and it covers the head as well.

Lynn Thompson of Cold Steel makes some excellent material regarding the use of weapons in a live setting. Like the Dog Brothers, its a lot of "duelling", mostly because if a knife fight is at very close range, everyone loses. He also makes videos about the tomahawk, cane, and sjambok.

I'm curious as to where you use the pekiti tirsia elbow spike. I like to use a motion like that to the chest. To the face, it's nasty to the eye socket.

the most common i've seen is just when you're doing a boxing style parry against a punch, just bring your hand to your elbow. Mainly useful in SD

If you have a stick and you do that block, basically you use the non stick hand to smack the oncoming strike into your stick, deflecting it, and then setting up a follow up strike from your stick hand. This is assuming the stick side forward lead.

Some people call it wing block, other people call it pluma or "take the power."

Deflecting the oncoming strike is plan b, plan a is slicing up into the guys forearm with the same movement.
