He can do it because it's what he trains for, if you can find some of his training videos, you can watch how he screws around and then just anticipates it.

I don't get how he can make himself deliberately hurt people. I know lots of fighters are nice guys in real life, but Genki takes it to a whole nother level - I just can't picture him having that "switch" most fighters have where it becomes all business.

dude thats half the fighters i know. i myself wouldn't hurt a fly, and i know guys who fight who are plain saints. they have a different mindset about ringfighting, to them it really isnt a violent thing at all

I dont think the point is about Genki being non-violent during out of the ring, it's more about how he is polite, humble and not a total jackass.
Ofcourse most fighters are not violent, cuz it would probably break the law. However, many are total jackasses with no respect for anything.

From where do you base your opinions?
In my experience most fighters are pretty damn nice guys, humble and respectful and all.
Some are a little rough around the edges, but if you talk to them or listen to them they're good people.
Most of the time the ones who ARE seen as disrespectful are just people who tend to be outspoken or cynical sometimes.
