New game: Crappling pics from instructionals

How is this in an instructional, and why would I spend money for something teaching ****?

I guess if this is what we get from Frank, we really shouldn't expect much from Ken.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

Looks like bad positioning, and no bodyweight pressure to stop the guy on bottom from countering or muscling out of it.

Hrm... two birds with one post. If you look tori has his left leg up next to uke's head. His left leg is probably in the same position, just hidden by uke's body. I can see this position being effective if tori has uke's right arm pinned. Given that this is a screen grab, we really don't know what comes next.

I was just joking as it really looks like he's cut off at the torso at first glance.

Not to mention the fact that he's doing even the shoulder attack portion wrong.

I suspect Frank's hips are just over bottom guy's right side.
His legs are straight with knees off the ground, so there should be decent weight holding the guy down.

When I trained under Frank for the little while that the Shamrock Training Center existed, I didn't know **** about BJJ (still know very little). But I got the impression that the techniques Frank taught were not necessarily canon for BJJ, and that he had his own distinct ideas about grappling. In any case, the curriculum he'd cooked up seemed to have unique emphases distinct from BJJ's.

Here, it seems like the goal is to get the elbow as close to your own body as possible, and then worry about the rest.

This is still better than Kimo's MMA video. The part in the opening where he tries a flying armbar...
