    the fairtex ones are leather? Didn't catch that. The ones I have are some kind of foam. They're not as protective, but I prefer them to leather shinguards, personally.

    yeah they are really durable leather, hence the high cost. the straps are also well made and stay on better/straighter then most other brands.

    I'm in Boston, but I would just recommend buying some off of MMAMuscle.com or from combat sports international.

    they sell twins gear over at sityodtong if i recall, thats good stuff too.

    some of the bigger gyms sell gear... i know there are some programs around that don't carry stuff though.
