I try and go the gym at least every other day. When I go the gym I sprint 2.4k (or try to) in under eleven minutes (i hate running). I then jump on a cross trainer and either stick ina cross training program or cross country (hill climb works gd to). After this I'll tend to do some weights but we won't go into that as you want to know about cardio.

Also before I go to bed each night I try to do 50 push ups, 50 sit-ups then 50 dips (not full dips as I only have a waist high desk suitable to do them on) as quick as I can. This routine only takes ten minutes if i'm being lazy but can usually be done in 5 minutes. When that starts getting easy I'll try and get my rep up to hundred and so on so forth. I find this to be gd to build up muscle endurance and has helped me alot with the length of time I can role providing I don't get tapped out.

I generally use a modified version of Mark Hatmakers Combat Conditioning:

    100 x Hindu Squats
    50 x Hindu Push Ups
(removed neck / back bridge - recurring injury)
    100 x Crunch Series:
    - Floor (knees/feet together)
    - Floor (feet together, knees wide)
    - Feet Up (knees/feet together)
    - Feet Up (feet together, knees wide)
    - Legs together at 90
    - Porn Star (wide apart)
    - One leg in at 90, the other extended
    - As above / reverse
    - Oblique crunch
    - As above / reverse
12 x Wide Grip Pull Up
    12 x Palms Out Grip
12 x Palms in Grip Pull Up
    12 x Commando Pull Up
    100 x Jumping Squats

Work the above around 3 times a week for maintenance

My kickboxing gym uses the following basic circuit regularly (Normally when we've got time to kill. Also used as a general indicator of fitness at gradings)

    PUSH UPS
    BURPEES
    V SIT UPS
    PIKE JUMPS
    SIT UPS
    TUCK JUMPS
    SQUAT THRUSTS
    STAR JUMPS
    LEG RAISES
    DORSAL RAISES
    TOE TOUCHES
    (QUICK REST ALLOWED)

    EACH EXERCISE = 10 X REPS
EXERCISES TO BE COMPLETED BACK TO BACK

    RECOMMENDED TARGETS BY GRADE

    BEGINNERS
    1 x circuit = 110 Reps
    2 x circuit = 220 Reps
    3 x circuit = 330 Reps
    INTERMEDIATE
    4 x circuit = 440 Reps
    5 x circuit = 550 Reps
    6 x circuit = 660 Reps
    ADVANCED
    7 x circuit = 770 Reps
    8 x circuit = 880 Reps
    9 x circuit = 990 Reps

How long does that take to complete 9 times? It looks a little on the long side to me. And, I would also like to know what a small break between sets is.

I'm thinking it's about 2 to 3 minutes for each cycle with one minute breaks... Not a bad routine.

its a killer, trust me. the most we do in class is 5, senior students are just expected to maintain a higher level. youre right on the times: 30 second break if around 3/4 reps / a minute for a full session

Cool... I might give that one a try when I'm done with my surgery and recovery.
