Kimewaza was an early-80s phenomenon in Iceland pioneered by two brothers. They appeared in at least two movies and did exhibitions. Only trouble is that they were never a martial art in any concrete way. Kimewaza was a "motion art", basically a kind of modern dance.

This is the first time I´ve heard anyone talk about Kimewaza in the context of fighting.

I know some people who might be able to give me contact info for the originators of the phenomenon, so I´ll ask them.

Since the department of vital records is jacking you around you might want to contact your local member of parliment and ask them to help you resolve this matter, its what they're elected and paid for :)

Just heard from Modern Arnis - no records or memory of any instructor by either of Gudni's names (Gudnason or the von whatever)

I'm still trying to put together a rough timeline of the training he claimed - starting at 6 years old and using reasonable estimates.

Sorry for not posing more, been real busy at school with a couple of projects.

But a lot of the stuff from the e-mail looks promising and I´ve directed some people who have been around MA in Iceland to this thread.

I´ll follow up on a bunch of stuff before the weekend and report in :) , I´m going to try to find the Kimiwaza founders and get a fix on his birth certificate.

Wait a second if his twin had lived for even thirty minutes, wouldn't he have also had a birth certificate as well as a death certificate? :)

He would in the US - I brought that up a few pages ago.
The only complication would be if the twin was stillborn (Gudni wouldn't **LIE** would he?) - in the research I've done, a death certificate is not always issued for stillborn children (at least in the US). He might still be in the obituaries, though. Assuming that there actually was a twin, of course...

Gawker - Take no offense, but can you verify or provide references for the information you've provided? I'm a skeptic, so if someone claims to know something I want to know why and how. You've apparently been to Iceland (since you've seen the grave of the brother) and what-not and done a bunch of investigation on this - do you have concrete evidence (those newspaper articles, interviews with ex-wife or the bodyguard) that you'd be willing to share?

Samuel Browning, correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Bullshido do fact-checking before "signing off" on an investigation?

he is little known in US - he judged matches - he has made few friends in the industry. Stirred up controversy.. wouldn't they verify his bona fides before allowing him to judge?
