UK Throwdown ?
I'm a Throwdown Nooob and don't mind admitting it however, I operate in a private dojo and if anyone in the Lincolnshire region would like to organise a Throwdown, I'd be happy to host it and participate."To sin by silence when one should protest makes cowards out of men".

There's some discussion going on about a Southern throwdown at the moment:
I'm sure there'll be interest in a Northern one though, especially if it's easy to get a place to host it....that always seems to be the sticking point when the throwdowns are being put together.
I'd be happy to come along to any in the UK, whereabouts in Lincolnshire are you?

Now I have a car I'd be happy to travel up to a Throwdown.

I haven't trained in anything unarmed in over 6 months, but would still be happy to go to a Throwdown up north when healed. Perhaps we can sort it so we can also use it as an opportunity to get everyone in the Moclair investigation together for discussion?

Would trying to organise it down the road or (just for the comady) in his venue not practical probably but it would amuse.
Thanks for the offer Dave, you owning the place would simplify things alot
Another place if people are interested would be in Bradford, as a venue there are two places we coudl hold it that i Know off, one is the Uni sports center we have around 50 1x2 gym mats, other option I could look into is Kings MMA gym where I do BJJ, reasonable sized matted area and a ring... (I just like this as i don't have to travel :P)
but we might want to leave organiseing a northen one till we get London/south coast finalised."This won't hurt me a bit..." - My training partner.:new_astha

No Problem guys.. the offer is always open, just gimme a shout when ready.
I'm in Grimsby NE Lincs. ****-hole of a place but the welcome is always warm the beer always cold.
I lease the building so essentially it's mine to use, its a traditionally looking Japanese dojo with sprung wooden floor around 100 square mtrs with mats and canvas. comfortably holding 22 people.
Within the dojo we have the following arts:
Shotokan Karate, Aikikai Aikido, Muso Shinden Ryu Iaido and most recently Kendo.
Unfortunately we don't have any grappling arts as there isn't any in the region, closest is a BJJ school in Hull about 50 miles away. There is however a sports Judo dojo in Grimsby but they keep themselves to themselves.
I'm particularly keen to raise the profile and image of martial arts in the area so I have a vested interest in offering the dojo for a throwdown, I'm both interested in taking part and lifting the reputation of the dojo. I'm quite happy to do the organising/advertising. Anyone wishing to stay over, there are plenty of good and inexpensive B&B locally, if I have an idea of numbers I'll make some enquiries and see about getting a group discount."To sin by silence when one should protest makes cowards out of men".

A throwdown sounds like a hoot... we could invite the Go Kan Ryu club from Cleethorpes to join in...
BTW, there's also BJJ in Doncaster... a little further than Hull, but no bridge toll (just passport and innoculations for entering Yorkshire...).Where there is only a choice between cowardice and violence, I would advise violence.

I'm always up for throwdowns in the UK, as long as they're reachable by train and on the weekend. Would also be good if we got a definite date with several months to spare, as that would mean the Travelodge saver offer I'm always mentioning (£26 per room, 1 or 2 people) becomes viable.

Fucking GO KAN RYU knobbers lol yeh whatever mate LMAO if we invite them, I'll charge 'em £20 a head and they'll pay for everyone else :eusa_clap fucking dumb-arses prolly pay it as well.
I'll make sure an invite gets extended to the BJJ'ers, I'm really keen to have a go at that as its something I've never had the opportunity to do.
OK, leave this with me, I'll have a look at the calendar for '07 and pick a weekend which is free. Phrost.. Book a flight mate :icon_thum"To sin by silence when one should protest makes cowards out of men".
