Nick Diaz, of Team Cesar Gracie, has been picked up to fight Dennis Hallman in UFC 44. He is replacing Jeremy Jackson, whom Nick recently defeated by first round TKO.

Nick is the older brother of Nate Diaz, who defeated forum regular Vargas by points at the Las Vegas Grappling Championships. We're sure that Vargas was merely unsettled after seeing Fatality Dragon in his transparent mesh shirt.

To Omega, you should check out the graciefighter.com website. They have a post on the front page from Jeremy Jackson's mom, who is very angry at Robert Ferguson and Team Freedom for not sending anyone to watch Jeremy's fight. I thought you'd relish Ferguson taking a hit.

I was also talking with Omega about how the results of this fight would be unfortunate either way as both Jackson and Diaz are up-and-coming fighters whose reputations would be harmed unfairly by a loss. Looks like that came true as Jackson lost his UFC spot. I hope that he gets another chance. Good luck to Nick...he works hard, and he's been a great teacher. Too bad he moved to Antioch...grr.

Normally, I'd say I was grappling, but I was taking down and mounting people, and JFS has kindly informed us that takedowns and being mounted are neither grappling nor anti grappling, so I'm not sure what the **** I was doing. Maybe schroedinger's sparring, where it's neither grappling nor anti-grappling until somoene observes it and collapses the waveform, and then I RNC a cat to death.----fatherdog

Jackson will get another shot in the future. He's a nice guy and a great fighter. Wow, that's great news for Diaz. The Hallman/Diaz fight is going to be a maker too as both have to prove themselves to the fans of the UFC. Any bad showing on either one of there parts and its bye bye future contract. I'll go to the site now Wastrel, thanks.

bwahahaaha, actually I heard Ferguson got a lucrative offer for a book and is giving up fighting, maybe even managing.

Yeah, I'm still recovering my eyesight from that experience. FD needs to get a 'man-ssiere'. Or is it a 'bro'? (two points to Vargas, Seinfeld reference)

Glad to see Nick kicking ass and moving up to The Show. He and Nate are two classy dudes, I hope they both get their shot at what little fame and fortune there is in this sport. Mega-props to Nick!
