Neat judo game and with authentic voice acting from Douillet too. Gameplay is a more hectic version of dance-dance revolution it seems, you have to string together the commands of left, right, up, down, arms, waist or legs and string them together with perfect timing. I just can't quite figure out how to defend myself against being thrown, so I usually stay on the offensive. The bigger, IPPON-guaranteeing throws are also hard to pull off.
It also has submissions. You can go for an armbar takedown or drag to RNC, and then you'll struggle on the ground to escape or get tapped (instant IPPON, of course.)
The thing I like the most about it, though, is that at the beginning of the match, you have to press WAIST to bow, or you will be penalized. It has a good judo feel and tons of throws. Will most likely have more in the full version.
Only glaring error is that there there doesn't seem to be a "Guard Flop" or "Butt-scoot" move. How am I supposed to play this game with a BJJ background!
Has anyone figured out how to counter opponent throws? I get lucky by button mashing sometimes, but more often I get thrown.

With the “sandbagger” cheat, you can enter a local Judo tournament as a white belt.

It allows you to counter by pressing the right button at the right time, just like you would for a multi part throw. How do you go down for subs?
This game is really, really fun.
And that's when I figured out that tears couldn't make somebody who was dead alive again. There's another thing to learn about tears, they can't make somebody who doesn't love you any more love you again. It's the same with prayers. I wonder how much of their lives people waste crying and praying to God. If you ask me, the devil makes more sense than God does. I can at least see why people would want him around. It's good to have somebody to blame for the bad stuff they do. Maybe God's there because people get scared of all the bad stuff they do. They figure that God and the Devil are always playing this game of tug-of-war game with them. And they never know which side they're gonna wind up on. I guess that tug-of-war idea explains how sometimes, even when people try to do something good, it still turns out bad.

To do a jujigatame takedown as Wellens (Guy with the beard): Move backwards, press LEG to start the move, then press backwards and HAND to finish the move and start struggling for an armbar. It's very overpowered against the AI in my opinion.

Man, you think it is bad to learn from a book or video...I just saw a sweet sukui make set up that I liked enough to write down in my notes.

Thanks Greese for the post. I don´t normally play fight games, and hate dancing games. But I saw the ad of this game in Eurosport Fight Club. Really fun game, and makes me wish I had more time to go back to do Judo also.:love5:
I'm grindin' 'till I'm tired...

I love fighting games, I usually play them while I'm recovering from my workout. Sorry if that's messing up my training! ; ) Lots of people like to play a sport for real, then also watch it on television (OMG they should be training, right ; ) and then perhaps also play video games based on it. Seems to me that fighters would be a good target market for games based on fighting ;)

Dammit, my graphics card on my laptop doesn't meet the requirements. I'll have to wait until I go home and have my pc to play.
