The Onion's answer to school shootings:
I've seen proposals about having teachers be armed. Then again, I've seen it within the context of teachers in S. Thailand defend themselves against being kidnapped an beheaded.
Thoughts on an armed teacher defending students?

Most School teachers I've met are pretty anti-gun in the first place. I can't imagine most of those wearing a sidearm.

My middle school History teacher had a revolver in his desk. He also taught us how to make bombs, why we should hate the Vietnamese, and absolutely freaked out whenever someone's book fell loudly to the floor.

The obvious answer is to outlaw children.You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there.

I for one don't find anything wrong with the idea of underpaid overworked highly stressed individuals in a job with no real future, surrounded by screaming disobediant children all day being armed in the 1 in 10,000,000 chance a serial murderer comes into the room without drawing his weapon first.Captain's Log: Just a little update for all my TRUE and HONEST friends out there:
