I was going to add to Jorec's hilarious post but more importantly, DEFINITELY take Satori up on his offer.

Has there been a good ninjutsu school since the end of Japan's Fuedal Era?

Thanks for the offer satori, but I'm really not interested in BJJ. Though, if you know of a reputable taijutsu instructor in san diego, I'd appreciate it.

Ninjitsu doesn't exist, just a lot of people pretending to teach it. Are you comfortable with learning someone's modern re-inactment of what they think ninjitsu is?

You came to the WRONG forum to ask about Bujinkan brother. There might be 2 active BJK folks here, and atleast 20 ex-BJK. I would never try to change your mind if your dead set on it, BUT I just got done with 20months of BJK and I can tell you that it is not a real art. it has not been that since the early 80s it turned into a LARPing, lunge punching, NON-active art. It is not just 1 or 2 dojos it is ALL dojos, anything that you learn from a BJKer is somethign they brought with them from another MA. NOTHING WORKS in a live session. I spent 20months letting my sensei pinch, kick, choke, knee my ribs, throw me by my fingers, etc...

The first hint to me was that if the Uki anticipated your defense then the techinque would not work. Truely effective techinque should work even if the Uki knows what your doing,

The sword/hanbo/bo/tanto/musari training is neat but again not effective. Who walks around with a sword or a 3 ft chain, and anyone with a cane (hanbo) is going to beat an untrained unarmed person.

No LIVE sparring is going to teach you nothing about self defense.

You have the offer of a good person take him up on it, Then go to every Dojo that interest you in your area, they should all give you a week of classes free to try it out, NEVER sign a contract, and be VERY watchful of any instuctor that makes his living from teaching, it muddies the water........
