Is that any different than 'Hawaii kajukenbo' or is that not "real" kajukenbo. As I've stated in the past Pat, I've checked out the school run out of Millilani Rec 5. Now, assuming this is "real" kajukenbo too, I can't fathom how in the world you came up with a '9' for aliveness. I witnessed the practice of kata's and self defense techniques that were rote and repetitious. While the Professer Iverson was a nice man, I can't imagine wasting my time in that system after quering him how they had to invite other instructors from other arts on how to use a knife and a baton.

I don't know Iverson. As Meex pointed out there are many different schools, and some are better than others. Hey Kungfoolss, why don't YOU drop in for a workout with KSDI?? Then you could give your actually reality based response, rather than talkig again about Iverson. I took Kajukenbo from Sifu Davis and Teeples in Logan Utah and I thought that they were good, but they weren't Prof Emperado.

The same reason 'I' don't go workout at some tkd school in aina hina shopping center (instructors with bright-colored gay looking uniforms), or the kendo/aikido school at the japanese cultural center near U.H., I'm busy and I've got better things to do with my time. You know, like teasing stylists on the net. I've seen everything from wing chun to hapkido here on the island of Oahu and I've spoken to their instructors, the only school I haven't checked out is the MMA gym somewhere in Aiea.

First, thanks badsifu for your post.

Just because someone dresses like this:
doesn't mean that they are gay or can't fight, right? "Preparing mentally, the most important thing is, if you aren't doing it for the love of it, then don't do it." - Benny Urquidez -

Whenever I see gi's in bright pastels, I can't help but think "Mcdojo wimps." Notice, I didn't say a thing about brazilian jujitsu's nascar and advercrap they love placing on their uniforms, at least they can fight.

Well, he seemed like an affable instructor, though his teachings left a lot to be desired.
