sylvia v monson

So I just saw this on the UFC's site:

Predictions/Thoughts/Hopes

I'm hoping to see Monson pull this one out, but DAMN it is a height difference. I know Monson has the vastly superior ground game. Will he be able to get in close enough to Sylvia to bring it down to the ground?

That's the million dollar question. Monson has stated that he has been working hard on his boxing game at ATT but given the HUGE reach advangtage of Sylvia it would seem to be bad advice for him to go out like Arlovski and try to box with the guy.

On the ground I would expect Monson to dominate but the question is can he get in there.

Unless he can slip like tyson in his prime, I don't see how he'll be able to close the gap and take sylvia down.

Monson has pretty decent standup skills, he has fought a few pro boxing matches now and improved a lot in that area. But he has the reach of a fried chicken and I dont see him taking Sylvia to the ground. I hate Sylvia and I want him to lose, but I doubt Monson will pull this one out.

Considering that Pe de Pano was doing pretty well at keeping Monson at bay with his jab, I think Sylvia will be able to do it to.

I'm not a Sylvia fan and I'd love to see him lose, but I don't think that's going to happen in this match. Styles make fights and the styles (combined with physical attributes) are stacked pretty heavily for Sylvia here. If, and obviously this is a big "if", Monson can take him down, I think he'll rock Sylvia's world.

This fight will tell alot about the impact of height in mma matchups. As far as i know their havent been too many matchups with a whole foot of height difference.

Id love to see sylvia lose.

One thing is for sure, whoever loses will look bad.

IF Monson gets Sylvia down, he'll tap him quick. Sylvia is not good on the ground; Monson has subbed multiple black belts. Sylvia will look lost.

If Monson doesn't get Sylvia down, he's going to look terrible trying to box with someone a foot taller than him.
