Saying that an elbow to a certain spot on the temple is a reliable way to kill someone sounds like definite BS to me. Granted I'm no expert at killing people with my elbows but it seems to me that if it were possible to consistently kill people by hitting them in that exact spot, then a lot of fighters would drop dead from elbows, no? And don't tell me that they deliberately warn MT guys not to elbow that spot, I don't do MT but I'll lay down some money that the coach doesn't take everyone aside and say "Now make sure you don't hit with an elbow Riiiiiiight here or you'll kill them. Aim an inch higher every time, okay? Well, into the ring you go!"
This sounds like a case of Phil Elmore to me; "It seems pretty obvious given a basic understanding of anatomy and physics that certain blows can be lethal. Therefore, no need to learn to box, just learn to eagle claw a dude's throat or elbow their temple", though i imagine that Phil would explode before he wrote the word "dude".
Can an elbow to the temple kill someone? I'd say a definite yes.
Can an adult swimming pool kill someone? I'd say a defnite yes. -

I'm pretty sure the temple is the thinnest part of the skull but It's also a pretty small area to hit and I'm pretty sure your'e gonna find someone you're fighting is gonna be moving so I can't imagine it to be the most practicle thing to try in a fight but if you were arsey enough to hit the right area it may kill but you're probably more likely to miss, I'd give it very low odds for actually pulling it off.

Exactly, it's a small, highly-mobile target. This is like those TMA things where they tell you to hit the pressure point exactly one inch below a guy's left collarbone in order to cause him to develop spleen cancer over the next eight months. The temple is a good target of opportunity for an elbow, but you can't rely on hitting it.
