    Hell yeah! Hell no!
Kimura (and most pre-world war II judoka for that matter) were newaza masters. Only the advent of extreme limitations on newaza in international rules have led to the decline of judoka skill in newaza. Kimura was stronger, but that is because he put in the time (he did 1000 pushups a day since he was in his early 20s and trained 8-10 hours a day). Judoka who trained with kimura in his later years said that they had no doubts that kimura could have made the japanese olympic team when he was 60.

"Kimura" vs. "Helio" also comes out in favor of Kimura.

Clearly filthy Judo Apostates have infiltrated Google and turned it against GJJ.

haha, yeah i have to admit that judoka hype kimura as much as bjj hypes the gracies. if anyone has trained in judo for a while under a japanese instructor, they have proably been lectured about kimura and his legendary training regimen.

Haha yeah ive had those arguments with friends. None of my kung fu-movie-loving friends believed that an unassuming, wrinkly old man named Gene Labell that no one had heard of would destroy bruce lee and any other phony in a feal fight. At least bjj practitioners have a good number of fights under their belts. These bruce lee lovers are the same guys that think Jet Li (who said himself he has never been in a fight) would actually be able to beat a mixed martial artist, or even a college wrestler for that matter

Yeah but most of the results of "kimura" probably come from BJJ sites because its the name of a lock used in BJJ. BJJ wins again sucker!

It's called a Kimura because Kimura broke Helio's shoulder with it.

    Judo FTW.
