Thread: What's up your asses revisited.

Well I posted my comments before the labor day weekend. I wanted to come out swinging wildly and see who would get hit and this is in response to all the comments made on my first post "what's up your asses"
Well guys the replies that I got were fairly predictable (thanks for the spell and grammar check), I don't take these things personally I just wanted to see who would answer.
To answer your questions and comments:
1. The Mcdojo artist I was talking about aren't really mcdojo artist but I've seen the styles come up so I was referring to several fighters that have since changed to full cross training for nhb(Chuck Lidell: Kempo Karate<I know Chuck personally, Jay Palmer @superbrawl 1&2:TKD, Pat Smith:TKD<not a great example, Eugene Jackson: Kung fu<betcha didn't know that one). These are guys that started in styles that some of the members like to poke fun of.
2. Muay thai's not all that great for men for self-defense...too offensive and lands them in jail. In my eyes self-defense is whatever is going to get you home, fighting is what you do for fun<yes this would include street fighting. If you meet somebody on the street and they want to fight you have two choices, let them know your going to beat their ass, or catch them by surprise and defend yourself. If you use muay thai to catch them by surprise you're probably going to end up at the losing end of a law suit or criminal case.
3. Of course BJJ is good for self defense. If you guys would take a look at my bio you would see I'm an old time grappler. Unfortunately not many BJJ schools teach the self defense aspect only the fighting and competition aspect. Excellent for women and I incorporate rear naked chokes and arm bars in my women's programs.
I don't normally poke fun of people that I don't know personally but that was kind of fun. And weather you believe me or not I wish everybody well peace......

Yes I have to agree with you Micheal. I have found both BJJ and MT very effective for self defense which is why I origanlly started taking them.
But now that I have gotton more into the "sport" side of it all I have learn to love it even more. I plan on being in training for quite some time, and loving every minute of it.
