Thanks for the comments everybody. I know you're all right about needing a break. I wouldn't be thinking about it if I didn't. I guess it's the whole quitting thing that bothers me about the idea. I've never wanted to be one of the countless guys that "used to do martial arts". I thought I'd be doing it for the rest of my life. That's why this whole thing kind of snuck up on me. One minute I'm training and enjoying it, and the next minute I'd rather be doing other things instead. Maybe I'm turning into a girl.

I think it's important to have goals to keep you motivated. Mine are: get my purple belt, get within cutting range of middleweight, and get in the cage before I'm 30 (3 years to go...).
Do you have any goals?
Maybe just assign yourself a set amount of time off like the next 3 months or so. Do it with the idea that if you wanted to go back in that time you can, but at the end of that time, go back and try again.
It might just be that you need a rest, but if you set a 'in x time I'll be back', you'll at least not have that "quitter" feel.
I've though about doing that sometimes myself. Although I am thinking a week off... just to recharge. :)
take a break. I did martial arts for about 5 years when I was young and lost interest/got distracted. Nothing says you can't pick it up again later in life even 15 years later like I did. I'm in my 30's as well and am now returning to martial arts. Don't feel bad about it or knock yourself because you have lost interest. While it took me 15 years to get back into it, I wanted to somewhere about 10 years ago but thought that I'd taken too much time off and would just make a fool out of myself. Now that was acting stupid, I should have just gotten off my ass and did it back then.
I've only been doing MAs for about 1.5 years, so my burn out time is rather limited. The only time I thought about quitting was around my third month when I was still having difficulties grasping how what I was learning was going to help me. Course, at that point I was still doing static drills only. When I began sparring a month or so later my perspective changed.
From that time to now, I've not thought about quitting. Every so often I'll take a week or two off to heal up a bit or catch up on other stuff I need to do.
Well, you are not necessarily quitting when you take a break ;) Just because MA is a continuous part of your life, that doesn't mean you have to do it week after week. You can take breaks, or train less for periods of time - and this applies to all activities ;)
