15-year old judo champion restrains burglar for 20 minutes until police arrives.
I watched a clip from swedish television on the event where the reporter asks the young hero "Did you put him in an old fashioned judo pin?" and he responds with "Well almost, but I was under him".
This thursday, several persons received awards from county police chief Carin Götblad in the form of cake, diplomas and money for brave interventions in crimes.
One of the awarded was Anders Norrman from Skarpnäck. When an elderly lady neighbour was assaulted by a burglar the 15-year old it enraged him so much that he wrestled the escaping burglar to the ground and held him in place with a leg scissor for the duration of 20 minutes before police arrived on the scene.
The burglar had no chance.
-I am a swedish champion in judo, Anders Norrman tells TT
Imagine keeping a violent adult crazy guy in your guard for 20 minutes while waiting for the cops.

There's no way that cake would successfully run the gauntlet of U.S. Police personnell and make it into the hands of the public. Mmmmm.
Why is it in these stories they always say the crime or whatnot 'enraged him so much he-'?
Why is it never 'He knew what he had to do'?
Or 'This was where all that training led too'?
but... you can't pull guard on the str33t! there's broken glass! and lava!
unless the snow cooled all the lava.... hmm....
i'm with gosai, though. we need more variety. i want to see more phrases like "he dared not dishonor his ancestors," or at least a reference to african fury.

I suppose I could make a more creative translation just for you guys.
My [significantly improved] translation:
This thursday, heroes from all around the galaxy received awards from county space marine chief Carin Götblad in the form of cake, diplomas and more cake for courageous interventions in crimes.
One of the heroes, whose name will forever echo in Valhall is Anders Norrman from Skarpnäck. When an ancient lady neighbour was nearly beaten to death by a burglar old it caused his viking blood to boil with the unholy fury of a thousand screaming banshees. With one arm in cast and several ribs broken he bodyslammed the fleeing villain to the ground and applied a reverse omoplata for the tap. He repeated this over and over for several days before the imperial enforcers arrived on the scene.
The burglar stood no chance against the fierce onslaught.
-I am directly descended from Chuck Norris, the newly dubbed Sir Space Knight Anders Norrman tells TT.
