A clean kick to the body or head is usualy two points.
If the kick is a spinning kick it can be counted as three points depending a bit on the organisation running the tournament.
Some tournaments do not allow continous punches to the head, avoid them there rediculous.
The main thing about San Shao is its a great spectator sport and a good format to fight under if you like to both grapple and strike. The rules are geared to keep the fights fast and flashy and they also tend to reward people who are more brazen and aggressive.
This tends to keep fighters fast and furious and stop people from turtling or fighting overly defensively.

Im fairly sure clean leg kicks are single pointers, could be doubles... Where is rule book...
