It's from one of the first super cool anime's ever and is a clever trap of mine to find out how many people here are in their early to lat 30's

    Spoiler:
It's from a series whose english name was Starblazers that came out in the 70's

    I liked this.

I dont think they borrowed too much from others styles, i think they simply trained alive.

But i could be wrong you know.

Besides, ive always wondered, why is taiji considered a stand up style? I mean yeah there is your odd punch but it does seem more like a grappling style to me.

Dude, I loved Starblazers. If there is such a thing as "classic anime" I would say that Starblazers is it.

The best were the windtunnel hair styles those friggen cracked me up.

Wow, I had to go back deep, I think I've seen a few on T.V. but it didn't stick in my head long enough to stay. The very first anime I remember watching was Macross(Robotech for the states). I may have seen some stuff before then, but Macross is the only one I remember. I even that the Macross transforming station, in miniature form. We were broke. I'm in my late 20's by the way.

    Glad you all liked it.

I was sceptical about tai chi chuan before but after having trained in it for a month or so now i am being turned round.

Cool stuff... it's great to see this side of Tai Chi for a change. Most people don't even realize there's more to it than a bunch of senior citizens moving in slow motion.

We need to get more video footage of hard contact sparring Tai Chi and compare it to the soft style that we mostly see here in the U.S.

The basic problem, like most Kung Fu unfortunately, is that the practitioners don’t train in an Alive fashion, as it was just said. Had this happened more frequently, then CMAs overall wouldn’t be in the stunted growth that they’re in now.

So it’s great to see this. Especially for me. When seeing things like this, it makes it much easier to understand how some of China’s great fighting heroes once were. Before the rampant deterioration, of course.

The real Tai Chi also includes some striking and has been used with substantial success in San Shou/San Da competition.
