Not being an ass or anything but striking (bag work, etc.) can help develop that core strength as well, and also throws if you incorporate these into your work out you will help strengthen your obliques and what not

A random thought, you might have jammed a rib. I did so about a year ago and it was stunningly painful, it toally fucked up my breathing, I couldn't take deep breaths without paaaaain; which made sneezing and agony I don't want to revisit. One trip to a physiotherapist later and I was totally cured.

Uh, unless I'm missing your joke, by using their 3 to 4 years of degree level knowledge of the human body to help, like it describes here.

I could have gone to a doctor, but he'd have just referred me to a physiotherapist. The physio took 5 minutes to identify that I'd jammed my ribs rather than bruised or broken then 40 minutes of body manipulation and exercises to free them up. Prior to the visit I couldn't breathe or move properly, afterwards I could. I consider that cured.

I meant no joke, I was 100% earnest, I have never heard of such a field of medicine, I have 15 years in medicine (not a doctor). From your link it would seem it is a UK based medical field. It sounds A LOT like a http://home.earthlink.net/~drbobshields/DO.html D.O. in the states, but without a medical degree.

It is a shame that more holistic medicines are not mainstream in U.S.
