COMBAT JUJUTSU (KEMPO GOSHIN JUTSU)
The origins of Ju Jutsu lie in the feudal Samurai of Ancient Japan. Ju Jutsu was a battlefield art of armed and unarmed combat and its effectiveness was tested in actual warfare. The combat Ju Jutsu taught by Kevin O'Hagan is a fusion of many different Ju Jutsu systems that he has learnt over the years and it is aimed at effectiveness in today's society. It includes the upright striking skills of punching, kicking and open hand blended with close quarter knees, elbows, head butts and upright grappling. Throws and takedowns are practiced as to are joint breaks, submissions, locks and immobilization's. There is an array of chokes, strangles, neck cranks and headlocks, ground fighting and grappling. Plus extreme combat techniques of biting, gouging, nerve attacks and pressure points. The system also deals with weapon attacks and use of modern weaponry and makeshift weaponry. It has a comprehensive grading syllabus from white to black belt.
MIXED MARTIAL ARTS/VALE TUDO
At the Academy's 'Impact gym' we train people for competitive fighting in Ultimate Combat, no holds barred contest. Kevin and many of his guys have fought in lots of different formats testing themselves in this extreme sport. They have competed in Ju Jutsu Kumite, KSBO Knockdown, Brazilian Ju Jutsu grappling, Submission Wrestling, Semi & Pro Ultimate Combat and Cage Warriors amongst others. MMA is the future of competitive fighting and the Academy is established in this format. MMA fuses Ju Jutsu, Boxing, Muay Thai, Wrestling and Japanese Shooto to make a complete fighting system for the cage.
SELF PROTECTION/CONFLICT MANAGEMENT
These specialized systems target safety in the streets. Kevin is a senior self-protection Instructor with Geoff Thompson's & Peter Consterdines BRITISH COMBAT ASSOCIATION. Self protection is not just about the physical aspects of conflict it's about Awareness, evaluation and Avoidance before fighting back. Some of the topics trained are Confrontation, de-escalation, fear control, adrenaline switches, the fence, action triggers, pre-emptive strikes, multiple opponents, weapons, line ups, aggression therapy.

Think the site I linked for Kevin O'Hagan before is now down, so instead try here.
Thanks for the link. I shall be reading his articles in depth over time (when I get the time).
Mr (Sensei) O'Hagan has featured many times in the old "Fighters" mag - before the Buy-out and re-vamp. Were I in Bristol, I would certainly welcome the opportunity to train under his guidance.
