I have only been at Kombat arts for a few months, but have been blown away. Basically it is in my opinion the prototype of what a modern MMA gym
It has a 10,000 sq ft facility including boxing ring.
They offer classes in BJJ, CSW, wrestling Muay Thai, JKD, Savate and more.
The biggest thing about the place is that each class or style has it's own instructor(s) who have achieved a lot in their perspective fields, such as a BJJ black belt who has won many grappling tournaments and fights professional MMA and a wrestling coach who has won and competed in numerous provincial, national and international tournaments as well as in MMA, to name a couple instructors as examples
What this means is that rather than learning a lot from one person who is good in different areas you get to learn from people who are great in their respective areas, and then get to put it all together.
Even though the instructors are experts in their own fields I have found no ego as they all cross train with each other. So for example you will learn a greco wrestling take down, you will learn it with MMA in mind so that you end up in a good position for ground and pound or submission rather than just pinning the guy down.
This truly is a mixed martial art gym with an eye on providing the best and most comprehensive training around.
Here are some pictures from the recent MMA Trials that were held at Kombat Arts to which was an event for MMA fighter hopefuls to showcase their talent.
Also here's a video HL of some pankration style sparing

Yep, that's a rating! Do you have any images to upload from the school's site? I'll turn off the time-out so you can go back and edit the original post to attach them if you want.

Great review, thinking about this seriously one instead of Toronto BJJ especially since their class scheduling is way better for me.

Just out of curiousity, for the members of this gym what classes are you taking? and are there any that you recommend/don't recommend for those that are thinking of joining.
Was thinking of doing Jeet kune do, Muay thai and kali. Any suggestions?

I live in the GTA and this club has been on my list of places to check out. I've heard nothing but good things about them and am thinking of joining as soon as I get some money together. If I went, I'd be interested in trying out MT, BJJ, Savate and Wrestling.
Thanks for the review.
