I can't believe that this is being discussed anywhere. Jet Li is an actor with a performance Wushu background. He would easily be crushed by any serious fighter. Part of me is very sad that this kind of discussion takes place at all, but at the same time it gives me hope that the next time I step into the ring the guy across from me will be one of these delusional morons

Didn't jet li himself admit that he's primarily an entertainer and not a fighter?

Though im sure Jackie Chan is somewhat tough(No Silva, but tough) since he freaking used to do all those damn stunts and broke bones and what not.

Didn't Jackie get punched in the face by a fan a few years back? When asked why he punched Jackie in the face the guy said, "I thought he'd block it"

    Nice!

In and of itself the statement is just foolish. The responses are what blew my mind. This means that there are so many more people who haven't faced the harsh reality that Kung Foolish isn't just a silly excuse to wear silk, its also not a very effective way to defend yourself.

I especially enjoy the guy who comments on Matt as though he just picked up the sport and this will be a detriment to him as Jet Li has been doing Kung Fu all his life.

Kung Fu fighters can sometimes be good groundfighters? And Matt Hughes is a boxer? Oh dear, I couldnt read more than two replies for that article without vomiting.

I actually train a style of Kung Fu on the side, but I don't wear silk jammies and I will actually be fighting in October in a Sanshou match. But I get what mean.

This is a very stupid stupid idea. This is merely a clash of fantasy. I hate this whole 'street vs sport' ****.

    Facts:
A jab works on 12th avenue and in a ring.

Sport fighters **** people up with their 'limited techniques'.

"But theres glass on the ground?"
Great way to mentally delimit the location. Of course!Real fights only happen on broken glass. 'Real' fights never happen anywhere else.

    ****!
