Out of curiosity, what skill bracket were these blackbelts competing in?

Wearing your black belt in the white belt division must be one of the most obvoius and laughable cases of douchebaggery I've heard of in the martial arts world.

Yeah. Just can't go out there without the black belt on. I have to be sure everybody knows I'm a d34dly black belt.

    Douchebaggery indeed.

The sheer number of TMA's who are now 'rediscovering' thier grappling roots, or incorporating grappling into thier curriculum is staggering. Unfortunately along with this new trend will be the trend to say they have always trained like this. Which is sad. It's cool to see TMA's recognize thier glaring lack of realism and/or effective training methods - but seeing them apply revisionist history is bad.

Iíve seen Small Circle Jiu-Jitsu brown and purple belts compete in the white belt divisions here in Arizona. They usually donít do very well and by and large get tapped out.

Wait? All the nutriders keep saying a white belt BJJer is better then a black belt judo-ka and far better then a black belt TMAer. Then all of a suddent you have a problem with black belt TMAer goes into the white belt division. Why is this a problem, I mean BJJ is superior right?

I know even after I get my Japanese Jujutsu black belt I'll complete in white belt level BJJ cause I know my place.
