Koto Ryu tends to target the inner thigh rather then the outer thigh like Kyokushin/MT. But its still a round kick with the shin (if done right). Honesly Bujinkan Koto Ryu is laughable, so I am not surprised. If you are not bruised (sometimes bleeding), then you are aren't doing it right.

There's some in Rockville, Frederick, Bethesda, and Emmitsburg up at Mount St. Mary's. Which one's closest to you?

The organization we're attached to is actually a Kyokushin offshoot but all three of my instructors are from under some big names in Kyokushin so we still call ourselves Kyokushin. It's complicated :P -

Yeah, that's who we're with. Strange name but good organization, big focus on kumite. Incorporates defensive newaza into the curriculum as well, mostly escapes and from the bottom as the last place a good striker wants to be is on the ground. Kumite at the Gashukus allow groundfighting as well as striking.
