And just as a suggestion to Daniel:

The avatar is cool and all, but the last person who used it was banned for utter stupidity and it brings back bad memories. For what it's worth.

Koto Ryu tends to target the inner thigh rather then the outer thigh like Kyokushin/MT. But its still a round kick with the shin (if done right). Honesly Bujinkan Koto Ryu is laughable, so I am not surprised. If you are not bruised (sometimes bleeding), then you are aren't doing it right.

Kyokushin and Muay Thai incorporate kicks to the inner thigh as well. Do you mean sampo geri, "hidden kick"?

There's some in Rockville, Frederick, Bethesda, and Emmitsburg up at Mount St. Mary's. Which one's closest to you?

The organization we're attached to is actually a Kyokushin offshoot but all three of my instructors are from under some big names in Kyokushin so we still call ourselves Kyokushin. It's complicated :P

errr. I never heard that term. I mean you grab their chest, slam their inner thigh with a solid round kick, then reap out the other leg and dump them on their head.

Also kicking with instep/shin with in the Genbukan Kihon as well its called Sokko Ken,

Ohh, you're Genbukan. You guys probably do have different stuff than Bujinkan then.

Yeah, that's who we're with. Strange name but good organization, big focus on kumite. Incorporates defensive newaza into the curriculum as well, mostly escapes and from the bottom as the last place a good striker wants to be is on the ground. Kumite at the Gashukus allow groundfighting as well as striking.
