Matt Hughes on Adam Corola show this morning

So anybody listen to Matt Hughes on Adam Corola this morning? I only got to listen to about 15 minutes of it when he came on.

Things that happened in the 15 minutes I was listening:

- He stated that he could/would beat Mike Tyson.
- Stated that he would never fight Chuck Liddel
- BJ Penn called and they were really nice to each other and ended the phone conversation: "Yeah... well I'll see you on saturday night, Matt."
- BJ Penn missed his flight yesterday because he was surfing and lost track of time.
- Adam Corola made fun of Matt Hughes and BJ Penn.

I had to leave right as they got to the part where he was going to whack the punching bag to see if he could beat Chuck Liddel's score. Anybody else listen to this?

Yeah. BJ Penn isn't going to win this fight I'm almost sure of it. Either that or it was some lie to play mind games with Matt Hughes. He called in on the show while on his way to the airport and said, "Yeah... I was supposed to fly out yesterday but I lost track of time while surfing." And then Adam made some comment about it.

Oh yeah I almost forgot, Matt Hughes thinks that questions like, "Matt Hughes vs. Godzilla: Who would win?" questions are retarded.

Nice to see that Matt's firmly grounded in reality.

Penn misses his flight because he's surfing? That's either a lie or an omen to bet on Hughes.

I'd like BJ Penn to win, but I don't see it happening. Matt Hughes was talking about his training schedule for this fight and it sounded pretty intense. 2-3 hours starting at 6:00am involving lifting, running, cardio. Midmorning off, Run some more at noon, nap time and then striking/grappling and cardio at night for 2-3 hours.

BJ Penn was surfing.

He could have been surfing in his offtime...and surfing is great exercise...but yeah...Penn is dead.

If you want to mess with your opponent, yeah.

Hughes said he lost the last fight because he underestimated Penn. Maybe BJ's trying to lull Matt into a false sense of security. The only better way to do that would be for Penn to say he was doing kata.
