The original version (from Antony Flew, Thinking about Thinking, 1975) was a bit more interesting than the one about the sugar.

This fact shows that Hamish was wrong in his opinion but is he going to admit this? Not likely. This time he says, "No true Scotsman would do such a thing."
But certainly it is one of the most common fallacies -- perhaps the most common fallacy -- in any discussion dealing with the shortcoming of groups whereof some of the participants in the discussion are members. Most notably, it's ubiquitous in religious discussions ("Well, okay, they may have murdered thousands of people, but real Christians never did such a thing") and in discussions of the _un (if there's a difference).

The adherence to the principles tends to define said r34l.

Which brings the conflict: Which principles are dominant?

For example, I see this one a lot when it comes to CMA:

"R34l CMA has, in principle, always adapted"

"r34l CMA has to look like r34l CMA to be r34l CMA" (see begging the question)

So nobody knows what the true is, because the true is supposed to define the true, but the true adheres to principles of tradition, but traditionally those principles say to adapt to other principles, thus compromising what the true is...

I'm actually pleased at this necro, it's a good refresher. This fallacy seems to be most often used during _ing _un discussions. Any video of fail = "no true _ing _un practitioner would..." or more likely, "that's not real _ing _un".

    Good stuff.

And dude, we need to take up a collection to get Phrost some more furniture and some decorations!

Based on his graphics skills -- which I'm sure depict his reality with 100% realism and clarity -- I'd say we need to invest in a "Feed the Phrost" fund.

He looks damn skinny in those pictures of his life that he posted.
