Few Bullshido members have the ability, and fewer will have the inclination, to travel to a seminar with an unsubstantiated instructor on the chance that he might be legitimate. If you have some useful specific, information please share it yourself. If you do so,though, I have a personal request; Could you please avoid the phrase "real deal"? Not only is it trite, but if you do search of the site you'll find that, with uncanny regularity, that expression is used by sycophantic fanboy students of whatever alleged snake-oil salesman is under discussion.

In the day of "Sokey Dokey" groups and fake 10th Dans etc....we occasionally come across someone who is truly exceptional, Col Hobbs is one of those budoka, he is 61 yrs old, two hip replacements, etc but still on the mat, in many countries.
He is a budo man, had time in tournaments in the earlier days and a solid reputation. He is not a snake oil salesman and does solid budo.......
My vouch means noting here, but I will be seeing him very soon to work on some Goshin Jutsu techniques, etc....I am 52 and very selective on who I spend my time on these days.....
Just another opinion
