Thanks for linking that. I liked Prince Hamid's fights. He's vicious and dynamic. I won't say more on the off chance anyone cares about spoilers on this.
With the inclusion of elbows, I'm even more amazed at the guys who make it all the way through the finals of this kind of competition. K-1 bangs a person up enough as it is, and this just adds another degree. I figure everyone is limping one way or another from first round eliminated to the final champ. -

I think I saw quite a few downward spiking elbows in the quarter or earlier rounds (particularly in Prince Hamid's fights). So it looks like guys were using them, unless there's some kind of allowance for downward spiking elbows to the head while lateral elbows are prohibited - but that wouldn't make much sense IMO.

you could be right, I haven't watched this event and I suppose rules could've been changed since JWP took it in 2004.

si-1 is full MT rules for every fight. yeah i think it used to only be MT rules for the final but they decided that it wasn't quite fair to the fighters to be switching rules inbetween fights like that. or something.
