Buakaw uses his money to pay for his sister's education. I'm sure that doesn't account for ALL his winnings, but that is one notable expense.
TKD is the most popular martial art in Thailand, however the stigma associated with Thai boxers isn't because they are considered criminals, but they are almost always from the lowest economic/social classes of Thailand and are therefore "looked down upon" by people with a better social standing. Many fighters in Thailand become fighters simply because they have no other real options to support themselves or their family. -
