    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Daito Ryu Aikijujitsu: This Martial Art Sucks.

This video makes aikido look good. Watch it all the way through, it just keeps getting better and better. You might not believe what you are seeing but this guy defends against the deadly DOUBLE GRAB-MY-WRIST and the even deadlier GRAB-MY-FOOT! And just when you thought it couldn't get any deadlier, he defends against the technqiue too deadly to even speak about. Yes, that's right. The DOUBLE GRAB-MY-FOOT!

Hey I know what you're thinking. "That's just some bastardized American ripoff of Aikijujitsu. The r34l Aikijujitsu is in Japan dude." For your viewing pleasure, I present the Japanese t3h r34l Daito Ryu Aikijujitsu.

Edited to add: I wonder if those submissions are what Upyu used to tap out those BJJ blue belts?

Sparring. That word alone could fix most problems on martial arts.

*shrug* first video isn't worth mentioning, second video is a basic demonstration. Daito Ryu kicks my ass, there's mean mean **** in it. If you don't like it, don't study it.

Video #2 is good. I don't see what is so suckish about it. That is how I learn my kihon (text-book) technique as well. Quite similar to how Yoshinkan practitioner learn their technique, i.e. step by step in a systematic manner. And notice the judicious use of atemi in all their kihon.

I understand that as a koryu art they are probably more concerned with tradition and kata preservation which means they are allowed to be a bit silly.

Do they use the technqiues in that video when they kick your ass or does it look like wrestling/judo?

Was is the first guy all Domo-origato Mr. Roboto?

It's like he has a pre-cooked formula for everything.

    1. Lay down and sleep,
    2. Attacker grabs leg.
    3. Engage Robot mode.
    4. Resume sleeping.

I guess the idea is that the art is so simple and requires minimal movements, yet is devestatingly effective.
