Hwa Rang Do Takedowns
Hwa Rang Do takedown video. First off, I think the demonstrations aren't half bad, but I have to ask, is Hwarangdo known for takedowns or ground fighting?
Knowing is not enough, you must apply...
...Willing is not enough you must do
The style of hapkido I used to study (Jang Mu Wan) was very good at takedowns from a kick. It was about the only alive thing they practiced in sparring (point sparring but with takedowns), and many of the higher black belts had remarkable throwing skills. I've heard Jang Bo Lee or whatvere the hell his name is that started this whole hwa rang do money making machine trained with the old korean master (Chong Sung Kim) that founded the Jang Mu Wan association so it's likely that they know the same takedowns. I can't speak for how they're trained in hwa rang do, but the potential is there.
Hot korean chicks?

Seems HRD isn't particularly well known for anything good, however, HRD students do takedowns during sparring a lot. And grappling seperately.

Reason: OCD :p
I'm not familiar with HRD but doing takedowns in sparring is a positive.

Up untill now, it was purely optional at that level, and kids didn't grapple at all. So to me, that suggests that it's being made more of a focus overall.

Compared to that old TKD video of them doing disaterous throws it's not bat at all. But how much of it is actual HRD and not just Judo?
Most of the first ones looked like pretty bog standard judo throws to me.... erm wait, what I mean is: "you philistines, these throws were developed 9000 years ago for taking out a cavalry charge! Korea wins again!"
