Please define McJKD

I am on another site where I have responded to a post regarding a possible Mc Dojo conspiracy for of all things JKD. I have noticed that any figure that tries to become too commercial is branded McDojo. Well I have learned that Dan Inosanto of JKD fame makes over $1000000. per year from his JKD operation. The report claims that he has over 250 instructors paying $2000 each year plus mega bucks from seminars and JKD gear. That is fine with me and I don't care if he makes money. In fact I am a Guro Dan fan that is puzzeled about his commercialization of JKD.
Here is where I draw the line. I have learned that Bruce lee's widow and daughter had to take Mr.Inosanto to court to regain ownership of the name Jun Fan and certain training gear that Bruce Lee left at the Inosanto house before he died and could not recover it. When asked to help Shannon Lee Mr Inosanto refused to join and support Bruce lee's daughter.
Is there a double standard when it comes to the loveable Dan Inosanto? Can he rake in the bucks and avoid the terrible McDojo brand? What gives?

McJKD is anyone teaching JKD as a style or as it was taught when Bruce Lee died.
In otherwords exactly what you're looking for.

Inonsanto may be a mcmarketing machine but unlike you he isn't a moron. He also teaches people to fight.

I SERIOUSLY doubt Inosanto is grossing $1 000 000 a year. Maybe it's true, I don't know, but I doubt it.

Anyway, what report? From who?

What was the name of the loonie group that tried to copyright the name "Bruce Lee"?

Make no mistake I admire Dan Inosanto and agree that he has advanced JKD over the years. I suspected a bias in favor of Guro Dan and people who teach his method after reading other threads. So far it is confirmed.
Actually it was Dan Inosanto who trademarked the name Jun Fan jeet kune do to stop others from competing with him. In court he lost the rights to the name to the heir Shannon Lee, Bruce lee's daughter. Interesting that Guro Dan would turn against his own sifu when money was at stake. As you can see it bothers me that there is a feud between Guro Dan and Bruce Lee's family and it's over money.

Bruce was long dead, so Inosanto could hardly have turned against him. I don't have alot of respect for Linda or Shannon Lee, personally.

Shannon Lee and Linda Cadwell have no fucking clue what JKD is supposed to be. Their lawsuit against Inosanto is as stupid as when the Heimlich's sued the medical industry over copyrights of the name "Heimlich Manuever". Who's looking to make money off of JKD? Inosanto did well and would still do well if he didn't teach the Jun Fan curriculum and stuck with FMA. He didn't join the BLF because they just don't understand what JKD is about. I think if Dan was in it for the money, he would've joined the BLF and followed their "fight like Bruce Lee" garbage. For one, he'd be joining the competition, not fighting it. Secondly, he'd have the official endorsement from the Bruce Lee family. That endorsement alone seems to attract the likes of Bruce Lee nut-huggers and martial art geeks.

You know what McJKD is? It's people that want to learn only the Jun Fan curriculum and call it JKD. It's those people that want to fight like Bruce Lee, just like he did in 1972. It's the stagnation of a system that was intended to be constantly evolving and dynamic.

BLF is the proponent of McJKD, whether they make money or not.

I agree being married to or fathered by Bruce Lee does not make you knowledgeable about MA, I have read and seen pieces were linda Lee gets very impressed with herself. I also have read that the Lee family has changed stories and made up stories to futher the Bruce mystique. I also believe considering the contribution to the style and Bruces own skill provided by Guro Dan that he should own the name of the system HE copyrighted and kept alive after Bruces death.

And here is what I find upsetting. How can you say you follow the art created by Bruce Lee and say such terrible things about Bruce Lee's daughter and wife ( while he was alive). Those that have met Linda Lee or Shannon Lee have said wonderful things about them. I have heard very bad things about the "bubble headed bleach blonde" called Paula Inosanto. Like I said there is an obvious bias in favor of the Inosantos

Paula may be bubble-headed, but at least she actually trains.

Linda Lee and Shannon Lee could be very nice individuals. However, they are no experts in any martial arts, let alone Jun Fan/JKD.
