Zendetta is correct. Trying to body check someone who knows how to grapple would just be a way of succumbing to their takedown.
Unless you're a giant and they're a midget, but even so you're better off just punching them in the head or something.
I've seen people use it to decent effect for creating some space when the two fighters are pressed up against eachother. I can't see it as being something that could actually do much (if any) damage, however.
I dunno. Pulling guard on somebody just seems like a whole 'nother affair than pulling guard on somebody who is body checking you.
I could see body checks working in any brawl involving more than 6 people.:wcacjack
So how come your eyes are glowing now? Did you find religion?

People can get winded, unbalanced, jarred.
I'm always holding onto some part of them at the time too,
and if you watch some MMA bouts the grapplers are using a body check as the takedown provided a leg is picked too.
Type of single leg takedown, but with a strong body check they get a much better position when they go to ground.
Hmm, did that make sense??
I'm a follower of common sense. And common sense sends glaring, glaring "Don't fucking do that's" at the prospect of body checking a man with a sword. I don't know much about sword fighting other than that they are really sharp, and I really don't want to be close to them.
The only time I think body checking a person with a sword would even be considered is if you're on the inside. Between you and me, I really would rather not be close to anyone holding a sword.
yeah um i don't fight people with swords that much so i think i'll be okay
Ask Asia. I saw him pull it off from a taped throwdown session.
