Does the "peek a boo" guard have any place in MMA?

Curious about your thoughts on it. Does it transisition well, or is it overly specialized into boxing? This is about the only guard I'm good at.

If it works for you, I don't see why not. A lot of people who use the peek-a-boo tend to be crouch fighters though, and fighting from a crouch in MMA is a bad idea IMO.

Yeah, and a lot of the head movement tends to plant the legs in place for leg kicks.

I just gotta learn to stop chasing after punches with my hands.

Considering 'crazy monkey' is essentially 'Peek-a-boo-but-we-don't-want-to-give-credit-to-Cus-D'amato-because-he-doesn't-have-the-real-MMA', there probably is a chance there is a decent amount of crossover.

Why don't you ask Tito Ortiz how well it worked for him against Chuck Liddell. I hate the Peek a boo guard. Dumbest guard ever.

It seemed to me Tito Ortiz got KO'd because Chuck was a stronger, more aggressive striker, not because he had his hands close to his face. I doubt he would've done any better with his hands down by his waist.

Keep in mind Omega's preferred punch defense is to break his opponent's hand with his face.

The guard is designed to work with boxing gloves, not MMA. And I would like you guys to stop erroneously telling everybody that all I do is block with my face. I use my head, not my face (most of the time) and I duck too.
