    Hell yeah! Hell no!

What size gloves should I use?

I'm getting tired of using the old and stinky 10oz. gloves at my dojo and I was wondering if anyone knows what size glove I should use? I was thinking 14 or 16. And yes I did use the search function but they were all ancient threads that didn't answer my question.

I have a pair of 12oz and 14oz gloves, so I can change up the pace/feel of the sparring.

I use 16oz gloves in Boxing, But I'd suggest using the size you're used to. So if it's 10oz get 10oz. But what I really suggest for Karate are these:

It really is an awsome training glove. But if your school doesn't allow them well sucks for you.

My school would allow those for point fighting but not kickboxing.

Description• Same shock dispersing capabilities as a 16oz. boxing glove
is true, then they might be worth considering.

In any case, at 6oz. they're still 50% heavier than the smaller/lighter 4oz MMA gloves which are often used for kickboxing as well as vale tudo, and only 25% lighter than 8oz. pro boxing gloves.

They're also the "Preferred equipment of The Ultimate Fighter 3"! :boxing:

The desire to start a new thread is overpowering. It's about trust! The newbie is trying to give up power and decision making in a display of trust, one that is hopefully recipicated.

Then Bullshido crashes down like a backhand from an abusive parent.

    I love it.

I couldn't find a thread that answered my thread so I started a new one to get it answered and for other newbies that have the same question.

The rule of thumb around my area for kickboxing is:

    Below 190: 12 oz
    Above 190: 14 oz

personally, I like a 12 oz glove or a 4 oz glove, anything else feels like a sock'em bopper
