my capoeira group is on teh high end of fitness buffs (i.e. we also have a lot of gym training as well as capoeira training) so we alternate between pyramid lifting, toning lifting, and burnouts for weight cardio. Then we hit the ellipticals for 40-60 minutes. In a night, its weights, then capoeira, then cardio afterward. No sleep for the wicked.

Tabatas and HIIT - no long bouts of boring and muscle-eating roadwork neccesary!
I follow Ross Enamait's program, and anyone who does that knows that weight/strength training and cardio should be the same thing.

Here's my morning workout this morning...
As many of these as you can do in 20 minutes (very tired after New Year weekend... only got 6 done)
10 Pullups
5x dumbell swings w/ each hand - 30lbs. (dumbell on ground between legs, explode up and swing weight [straight arms] to fully extended over head, return to ground, rinse and repeat)
10 Clapping pushups
10 Knee tucks (deep squat, jump and touch knees to chest in the air)
Strength, endurance, conditioning, explosiveness - full body.
Give it a try... it'll knock you on your butt for sure.Last edited by Carrera26; 1/02/2007 2:32pm at .

Alex you fag, running's good for you. It's even better when you get chased by packs of wild dogs, it forces you to sprint like there's no tomorrow.
I suspect someone's supplying wild dogs to muay thai camps all across thailand. Seems like every training camp has them. Maybe you could go get some.
Bas Rutten's MMA workout, 5 rounds a day keeps the KOs away.
