    New Aikidoka in the Ring

    Hello everybody I'm new here.

I practice MA since i was 12, learned a lot of Bullshido, especially in my Kungfu time, but some usefull stuff, too. Three years ago I found a nice little Aikido-Dojo with a good shihan where I train now.
As there are no contests in Aikido in the place where I live, I still do some Crosstraining in MA with competition especially in Judo and TKD to get more fighting experiences. I like Judo but unfortunately I'm too tall to use most of the techniques in combat, so I often do some sparring with a TKD-team, and participate in their preparation training for contests. Maybe I will enter a TKD-contest in autumn.

TKD was my first MA, which means I have still strong feelings for her.:icon_mrgr

MMA is cool of course, but there is only a sanda school around where they train for MMA, but I heard it has become a bit Mc-Dojo like (with Yoga class on Thursday) after they got problems in attracting students. That sanda school is near to a BJJ-Mc-Dojo where you have to pay money on from the first lesson. So I keep to the more ordinary arts, where costs are low and training is hard.

Btw my favorite fighter in the MMA is Sudo Genki.

    Peace!

(As English is my second language, it is hard to avoid that there will be some mistakes.)

Hey there welcome to Bullshido .

I am sorry to hear that you are too tall for Judo . That must be a horrible thing .

Well stick to your aikido and your tkd and I am sure you will be just fine .

I've been saying for a while now that combat sports need height instead of weight categories.

I do not know much about judo, but why would you be too tall for the technigues. Why would sweeps, and hip throws not work if you are tall.
