NY Combat Sambo Style: combat sambo
Generally speaking Kozak the rules are like this...correct?
...it is a five minute match
...strikes to the legs, body and head are permitted with the hands, legs, and knees. No elbows.
...on the ground, no knees and no strikes to the head at all (currently)
...points awarded for quality of throw or knockdown vis strike. ground points can only be awarded a maximum of 2 for a pin once during the fight. After that is is all about the submission.
...headgear, kneepads, shin guards, and mma gloves required.
BTW, Kozak, I think the knee pads can be dropped. They were not in the rules you sent out originally...LOL. I also think that if there is no striking on the ground to the head, you can consider dropping the head gear. Just some ideas.

Those are the rules in general.
'tis true, for the knee pads! LOL!
I'll be making adjustments to the rules next year.

I'm familiar with the rules but have never competed under them. By the time the comp comes up i'll have about 6 months of Sambo under my belt and a year or so of Boxing.
If I compete i'll be upping my training quite a bit of course.
