Haven't posted a gun pic in a while:

This one is equipped with the 14" barrel in .30-30 Winchester. I thought about picking up the .223 barrel as well, but at that length, it's not a particularly impressive round...

Also wielded by Lance Henriksen in the Van Damme classic "Hard Target". Surely, someone can find a screenshot of him holding it out and grunting "Load me!" to the super-hot Yancy Butler.

Best I could do. I'm not afraid to admit I liked that movie.

Also, that's a fierce weapon. I've only seen it in this movie though, and i thought it was a custom, not a production model. That's cool, because I want one.

I traded my contender for a mossberg slug gun last year. I miss that gun.

I used it for Silhouette shooting in the early nineties with a 10 inch 7mm TCU barrel. Handloading got to be a pain, however. After I got into IDPA, Silhouettes lost alot of their charm.

I traded it with the TCU and .223 barrel with scope to a friend of mine who had sold his Contender a couple of years prior. The moral of the story is that this gun will always come back in your inventory at some point, so do not follow the temptation to ever part with it. You'll enjoy that gun for a long time.

Anyone have any opinions on the Contender vs. the Encore? I think I remember that the Encore can take some barrels for heavier rounds that you can't get Contender barrels for (am I right?).

I'm just curious as to whether there's any down side to the Encore.
