    Hell yeah! Hell no!
I've gotten along pretty well with the BJJ guys I've met. Some of the instructors can be arrogant, but hell, that applies to every martial art I've ever heard of (especially western boxing, boxers can be super-obnoxious). The only part of the BJJ thing I've ever gotten pissed at is getting home-towned by Brazilian refs at no-gi tournaments. Being a non-Portugese-speaking sub-wrestler can be a frustrating thing at some of those competitions.

"Go cry about it Vargas. Aren't you late for your shift at McDonald's?"
"I had once talked to Billy Conn, the boxer, about professionals versus amateurs - specifically street fighters. One had always heard rumors of champions being taken out by back-alley fighters. Conn was scornful. "Aw, it's like hitting a girl," he said. "They're nothing."

I met some brazillians over the weekend. I hope I gave them the Flu actually. They weren't BJJ'ers, they were soccer players here for the MLS function in Long Beach. I left my girlfriend in the gift shop on the Queen Mary for 5 minutes, and they circled her like sharks. But then again, so did the American Soccer players.

Brazillians arrogant? I take it you haven't spent alot of time in China town. Asians beat anyone for being arrogant.

and fly across rooftops. They have the freaking RIGHT to be arrogant if you ask me

Something about BJJ... it is all modified to fit your personal body style. My Sensei has modified moves from his, and I modify my moves from Sensei's. So if you train at different schools, you learn ways to do the same move in many different ways, just because of the way they have to do that certain move. So techinically you could say that 'yes, there is a difference' but only up to a certain point. They still basically teach the same techiniques, just with a slight modification.
Also schools have their 'school' techiniques as well.
And there are Gracies EVERYWHERE!!!! Holy ****... I'm walking around w/ my training boys, and there is a Gracie here... and here... oh and over there. Freakin' Henzo kids EVERYWHERE!!!

Oh... and the comment about being in between a mans' legs and not minding... you do know that BJJ is one of the top sports for Homosexual guys in Brazil, right? If not... food for thought!
And Asians do beat anyone/everyone for being arrogant, unless you are Asian.

FINALLY! Someone who don't want to bend over for the Gracie! Honestly I CAN'T stand any Gracie! They always say dumb things such as "I don't need striking" "Rickson will beat" "BJJ rule!" and other stuff that I can't stand. That is the ONLY reason I feel uncomfort about BJJ. If Gracie families don't have their nose up eachother ass 24/7 I would probably already be in BJJ class. Unfortunately Gracies were being a aggorant bastard who make many ridicous claims such as Rickson being undefeated, there are no way to beat BJJ or GJJ and other stuff. That is why I am waiting for Gracie's era to completely die out before I start any BJJ class. Beside that Gracies have pissed me off so much that it make me want to find another style that will completely domination them so Gracies will admit that they aren't undefeatable just like as any other humans. So I have no idea what to do, take BJJ because it is effective or just find other style that would dom BJJ so Gracie can't say "hey look, I am right BJJ cannot be defeated"

It is a rat eat rat world.

Uhhh I think the Gracies were forced to shut the **** up as Rickson retired in the face of several challenges. Royce hasn't submitted anyone in MMA since 1994. Sakuraba beat the **** out of the whole family. And basically no one gives a **** about them all.

The only Gracie bullshit I've heard in the past year or so is "yeah... well WE started it ALL, so bow down ************." The Gracie generation is over FD, now get over yourself and start BJJ. Don't be a dumbass and neglect important training because you don't like the arts founders/promoters.
