The Gracies and nutriding

Someone educate me. I have only practiced Machado Jiu-Jitsu, first in the US through Carlos, and then in Germany through one Rigan's students. Occasionally, we have had a Gracie Jiu-Jitsu guy come and do a seminar, but it looks (to me anyway) like the same stuff we do.

My questions are -

Is there any big difference between Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and the other BJJ styles? (Is the Gracie style somehow superior?)

Do people only like the Gracie's so much because they won the early UFCs, or because they are the first to bring it to the states? Just what the hell is it that creates a Gracie nutrider?

It almost seems a little cultish to me. I know the Gracies are really awesome at what they do; But from what I have seen, there are alot of other great BJJers out there too.

There's no difference as far as I know, it's all in the name.

And I think it's purley because the Gracies were the forerunners, they put it under the spotlight.(thankfully)

I'd have to say SLJ is correct. The Gracies were the first, and the developers of the style. And they still tend to rock. But for the most part, BJJ = GJJ, with only minor diferences in techniques here and there. AFAIK, of course.

think Kimura & Sakuraba are Japanese Gracies

avoid top fighters
are 200% sure Shannon Logan could submit Bruce Lee in 5 mins.
believe anything Rorion Gracie says as gospel
greet your friends with an open guard
respect - what does that mean?

I know, I wasn't having a go. Some of them are quite funny.

BJJ cannot compare in anyway to the mighty CUTS, so it does not matter.

What is CUTS? and what makes it better than Gracie BJJ? Please offer a comparison.

Certainly.

CUTS will enable you to defeat any attacker, it is my new lethal "Street style".

There is no need to compare, because CUTS is the best.

It is also a total piss-take.
