I myself started taking Shooto about two months ago. After taking BJJ, I never realized what an added dimenstion striking added. So many basic BJJ things are so much harder when the guy has free shots at your face and you don't have a Gi. Shooto also made me realize that the flexibility knee-on-stomach gives you is preferable to a full mount? I would take that anyday . . .

Peedee,
Why am I even answering you?
When you can predict what happens in a street fight, match, or any fight for that matter, they will break down your door to learn from you.
Since that isn't the case, learn to read before going off the handle.

Learning how to clinch, how to work the clinch WITH STRIKING, and how to set up takedowns USING STRIKING, is only for fast, physical men? You are living in the past.BJJ still owns right now.
Any style that you claim is better is only better for fast, physical men.
You're not going to tell me that if a pure BJJ guy vs. a similar guy who has trained MMA fought NHB, the BJJ would win.
FACT: BJJ has no striking. Period.
FACT: BJJ as a whole has poor stand up grappling skills. Which is magnified 10 times as much when striking is factored in.

The techniques will never be obsolete, that's important.
Of course MMA will be better, it deals with everything. Striking is only useful when you have the power to back it up.
