Hmmm, NY Sanda and SBG NY, between those two, which do you think would be the better place to train?

Search for Longo's place or Serra
    www.serrajitsu.com
    www.raylongomartialarts.com
    www.combinedmartialarts.com

All are either MMA(with a BJ program) or BJJ

Never had any experience with them but they supposedly put out fighters, others can chime in.

Regarding the not wanting to lose rank dealie- do TKD schools even actually accept each other's ranks? A lot of them are big chain schools, and I would imagine that it would be in their best business interest to string people along as much as possible with the belts/ not let people short cut their system by spending money someplace else.

So, I second the others- why doesn't she just take up Karate, advance quickly based on her previously acquired skills, and get the same effect?

I already suggested Muai Thai and she seemed hesitant.

Maybe she doesn't know what Kyokushin is so that is a good Idea. She might be scared of the level of sparring there and that she will be sparring with people who want to be pro MMA fighters.

I think she wants to learn something but doesn't want a school that she is going to walk into work with bruises or get hit in the face hard.

It's A LOT harder reccomending someone who isn't really into MA a good school than it is to reccomend someone who is.- Ironic.

Say, DerAuslander, did you ever hear of this guy?:

    Thank you for the reccomendation.

I'll try to look up S. Henry Cho and get info. I'll probably just pass the name and info along though, It would probably be better for her to just describe exactly what she wants directly without me playing a bad game of telephone.

    thanks.

Also, the place has training she may like, like specific woman's classes (I think).

Also, other people reading this may not be aware of the school and just in case she eventually decides to try something else( that's never happened before though) he can point her there as an option.

Maybe she can't find a good TKD school and checking out NY Sanda is a good alternative to smoking crack.

Or I'm a homo, short and sweet.
Hey LI Guy maybe you can help me. Since you seem like you are knowledgable about the schools on LI, where is there a Muay Thai school? I have yet to start my search, but I thought maybe you could point me in a direction...........
