And, Wolf. You are hereby commanded to refer to Kuk Sool as
Suk Tool. Simply because it does, in fact, suck tool.

    Carry on!
the ONLY reason Kuk Sool is out of my style field is because I stopped practicing due to some disagreements with how the organization is run, and the fact that I don't have a school close enough. I STILL believe the art itself has tremendous potential if trained properly. Just very few schools do. The first school I was at was one of the good ones. If I had the opportunity to train at a school that trained in similar methods again, I would in a hearbeat.

Yes I totally agree that skipping forward in "offensive stance", grabbing someones wrist with both hands, spinning round then your opponent doing a forward flip are very useful techniques for t3h str33t.

If you think that's what Kuk Sool is all about you're a bigger moron than I initially thought. How long were you in kuk sool, a month? If you really want to I suppose I'd be willing to go through the reason techniques are taught the way they are one more time. However, if you're going to turn a blind eye and ignore what I'm saying completely (like you have the rest of this thread apparantly) I won't trouble myself.

I was in for 6 years. I'd had enough of the association, the panzies, the stuffed shirts, the overall douchebaggery and the grandmaster who has trained acrobats flipping themselves in the air and onto the mat everytime he circles his hands.

The joint locks might help you for finishing holds in your BJJ.....

    ...and pobahk sool...rope arresting techniques.
Wow! If indeed the ancient Koreans used THOSE
techniques, then it is little wonder they were
    pwned by the Japanese.

It is hard to walk away. Wolf earned his rank. Been there, done that.

I like to think I already have come around. I train at a well respected gym that uses alive training. Is there something wrong with thinking that Kuk Sool itself has potiential, but the majority of training methods around in it are the problem?

Maybe....but take a good look at the actual techniques.

I can tell you that Juhn Hwan Bub would never work at UFC or by
    police or by the military.

Even with MMA gloves on, would you try a sah mah gui block against
    a lightning-fast punch?
Can a handicapped person with a cane (not that painter guy either) try
to do jepahng ei sool, do you think it would work? NO! How does a guy
with a bum leg do something like that?
You'll never do joo muhk maga ki bohn soo against someone at your mma gym.
You'll never "flip" a guy with jung guhp sohn mok soo #6 much less break his wrist.
    The Almighty X-block....

So it is not only the training methods that blow goats, the techniques are by and
large very far fetched if not something right out of the old Star Trek episodes.

I ain't punking you.... I'm just telling you like it is from my perspective. The earth is round, not flat and the flat earth line of thought has no potential.
