    There has to be a Judo club near you. There may even be one on base.

    Dude, you would throw an Airman in with some Marines? That's just cruel.

    Yeah I just meant start from the knees if you have to do this on a hardwood floor. Any throw is either going to be dangerous or too restrained to be helpful.

    So, to summarize;

    -Get some training partners and money together.
    -Find some seminars and/or private lessons in BJJ/Submission Wrestling.
    -Get grappling instruction videos and books.
    -Train your ass off.

    That is if you're sure you can't find some classes closer to you.

    That was an Americana. A bad one....but one none the less. I won't be so harsh. The techniques you used seemed to work for you. Your strength and size, plus unskilled opponents aided your sucess. Unfortunately, if those same techniques were tested on anybody with any amount of wrestling/grappling training: they would have been easily reversed. I agree with the previous posts. Get some instruction.

    If all you have is wrestlers around you, then learn to wrestle. Later when you get the chance to do jits, you will be better equipped to learn it.

    My only concern is all of the bad habits that you are reinforcing by "winning" these sparring rounds. I would argue that you do yourself a greater disservice this way. See the advice above for a better action plan...
